Did I missed the memo about this thread morphing into cross giblets of death 2023?

 

I used to be with you but my wife reminded me (again) this year that why get upset at early Christmas celebrations if its bringing them joy? While I hated that early Christmas seemed to me to negate Thanksgiving (I love this holiday), I now have been listening to Christmas songs on Spotify playlist for over a week now and loving it, just for the joy it brings.

 

I will NOT fire up my Christmas playlist before sunrise on Friday.
I'm pretty sure it's the law, maybe even an amendment. I'm certain it's at least a statute.

 

It’s freedom of expression. I put the country Christmas songs into the main playlist Nov. 1, and I thought about doing it earlier just because I was tired of Halloween (I’m usually tired of Halloween sometime in mid-October).

 

Provided my future brother-in-law gets his stuff together, we’ll have a smokehouse turkey and it’s amazing. It also saves us (ok, the fiancée) from worrying about the bird all day.

And we might actually get the tree up before Dec. 1. I think last year it was Dec. 15, give or take a couple days.

 

We’ve ruined politics with Thanksgiving talk.

 

Tree goes up the Sunday after Thanksgiving.
