The Premier League. Two teams go 38-0-0 but one wins the title on goal differential.

Heh. AP wrote a story before the season began saying the SEC was losing several elite QBs and might be down a notch this year. Three Heisman-level QBs PLUS Anthony Richardson PLUS Will Levis.

Not all that much of a surprise it came out of the gate slowly and never really hit its stride.

P.S. F ESPN. And F the Orange Bowl. We're staying home and raising a banner that we're 13-0 like UCF and national champions.

I guess when Florida State blows out Georgia in the Orange Bowl the committee will really have egg on its face.

In the 10-year history of the four-team playoff, 34 of the 40 committee seed selections exactly matched that day's AP poll standings. In only two of the six differences did the pollsters and the committee disagree meaningfully. In 2014, the AP had Baylor fourth and Ohio State fifth; the committee reversed them. (TCU was sixth in both). In 2023, the pollsters ranked Florida State No. 4 and Alabama No. 5. The committee had the Tide fourth and the Seminoles fifth.

That scenario is impossible since both teams would play each other, twice
