One of the co-defendants in the Georgia RICO case had her lawyers request to be allowed to withdraw from the case. They have not stated any specific reason, only said that speaking in general terms that while it was uncommon, attorneys did sometimes withdraw when there were issues of non-payment or when the client refused to accept their legal advice. The Instagram picture below with the Q-Anon Shaman and the accompanying musical message might have had something to do with it.

I believe as many do, this will be overturned by SCOTUS. Either on some sort of technicality or because of the illegitimate supermajority it now holds.

One enjoyable thing is finally a court rules that trump is a fucking insurrectionist piece of shit.

I’ll never stopped being pissed about Jan. 6. And the whitewashing of that shameful day by the trumplican enablers. And the shrugging of shoulders about it by far too many Americans.

The bullshit and lies from trump fomented Jan. 6 for weeks, even as he got his ass kicked 60 times in court. He fucking caused Jan. 6. He tried to get a mob to overthrow the government. He would not have cared if his own VP and other elected official were hurt or killed in his name. He was rooting for it. He caused it. And we’re just fucking lucky it wasn’t worse. It absolutely could’ve been.

So, a small victory that a court had ruled the obvious: trump is an insurrectionist and should never be allowed to hold office again. Even if it’s likely a short-lived win.

This is hilarious. The Colorado Supreme Court quoted Neal Gorsuch when he was on that court in their opinion that Trump was disqualified.

"As then Judge Gorsuch recognized in Hassan, it is "a state's legitimate interest in protecting the integrity and practical functioning of the political process" that "permits it to exclude from the ballot candidates who are constitutionally prohibited from assuming office".

Your last sentence sums it up perfectly. Unfortunately.

To be clear, the Denver District Court judge ruled Trump was an insurrectionist. But she didn't knock him off the ballot.

Trump and the challengers appealed to the Colorado Supreme Court, which affirmed her ruling that he was an insurrectionist. In fact, all seven on the CSC agreed on that point. It was four of the seven who took the extra step and said the district court judge should have gone further and kept him off the ballot.
