This has been me the last few months. I've found it to be a great way to unplug. And not just "big" games. I've gone down rabbit holes of some kinda random, regular-season games. I find it relaxing.

Colts and Cowboys had nasty defenses that year. Many years ago I played a friend in one of those early computer games (in the floppy disk days), and we played 1970 Colts vs. Cowboys. Just getting a first down was tough.

    Oof.

Oh, I know everyone has their passions, I just figure being a sports fan is the dumbest one. :)

My wife and her family are all immigrants from Guyana and her four older brothers don’t have any interest in sports, and that includes cricket and soccer, which some of their original countrymen do favor. I don’t know, it’s a source of bonding we don’t have, though their children do enjoy sports quite a bit and we bond over that. They are into cars and being entrepreneurs, which is fine and respectable, but something I care nothing about. If I came to America, I imagine I would take to sports like a fish to water, but maybe I’m wrong.

Would like to see an SNL skit of celebs trying to narrate like the Voice of God:

Akin to the Star Wars auditions ...

A public service announcement: Friends don't let friends watch the Pro Bowl.

On the initial premise of the thread: I was on assignment in Missouri and flew into KC and made a direct line to Gates (the regular recommendation of the Tigers' TV broadcast crew) and was not disappointed. Burnt ends are one of those signs that God loves us and wants us to be happy. I will say, though, that San Francisco has some points in its favor. Had some Dungeness crab bisque in a bread bowl at a place near Fisherman's Wharf that was sublime. Not better than barbeque but SF has many culinary treasures in its own right.

Oh, the game? I'm still not 100% sure, but I'm leaning Niners on account of I feel like they've played below their baseline level in both their playoff games and the Chiefs have been over their heads in at least the two, and so based on regression, positive and negative, I think the 49ers come to play.

I knew you would respond like a thoughtless, angry toddler. By your logic, it's not worth posting about anything. Maybe you should try that.

The premise of your statement makes little sense. It is possible to care and decide to still watch anyway. I'm not holding my breath in hopes that the league will change, but I'm not going to ignore its flaws, either. I'm sorry the logic of that escapes you.

Those two plays demonstrate why Roethlisberger is going to the Hall of Fame. He also should have been MVP of that game.

Two of my best friends, both of whom were in my wedding, have no interest in sports. We talk about other things.

I say this without a hint of snark. PLEASE leave your brain to science.
