President Biden sought to make the apparent collapse of a border security compromise a major issue in the presidential campaign on Tuesday, saying the bipartisan effort to tackle immigration is on life support because former president Donald Trump wants to weaponize the nation’s immigration quagmire for political gain.

Biden, who mentioned Trump by name less than a minute into remarks from the White House, urged Congress to pass the $118 billion Senate bill on border security and aid for Israel and Ukraine. But if the legislation dies, as many lawmakers on both sides expect, he said he would use his bully pulpit for the next nine months to tell Americans that his Republican adversaries had placed fealty to Trump over their duty to the country.

“For the last 24 hours, [Trump has] done nothing, I’m told, but reach out to Republicans in the House and the Senate and threaten them and try to intimidate them to vote against this proposal. It looks like they’re caving,” Biden said. “Frankly, they owe it to the American people to show some spine and do what they know to be right."

Bringing a vote to the floor you’re sure you’ll win, but you still lose cuz math is apparently too “woke,” is more incompetence than I expected. Even from back-bench scrub Maga Mike and this bumbling group of trumplican morons.

This never happened when Nikki Haley was Speaker of the House.

 

Dig up the concrete evidence of their incompetence. More importantly, dig up evidence of SPC threatening and intimidating Republicans into voting down the border proposal - the same one that they had a big hand in bringing to the floor – and campaign on it with the fervor of Rupert's circus and MAGA brings to griping about the border.

No, it won't change MAGA's mind. But MAGA can be overcome if the undecided in the middle see this and realize that all MAGA and the overwhelming majority of the Republicans want to do is burn everything to the ground. That the only thing they care about is power, and they'll put that ahead of doing ANYTHING for the good of the country.

This cannot be emphasized enough. These people are not serious, and they have no business working on anything on behalf of this country. Or any other country, for that matter.
