I don't mind the regular season OT. Especialy just being 10 minutes kind of adds to the urgency to get that first score. I mean the NHL regular-season overtime is much different than the playoffs.

Like I said in a previous post, a full 15-minute extra quarter would be interesting. Especially the first team scores a touchdown and then say gets a defensive touchdown. Down by 14 with half a quarter to go and it gives the game a whole new level of weird drama with one team in panic mode and the other in preservation mode.

Yeah, but the NHL's regular season OT/shootout are equal opportunity crapshoots. Games shouldn't be decided on a coin flip.

Sorta ironic, b/c I love ties and thus would be very happy with a 5 or 10-minute NHL OT in which the game simply ended in a tie if nobody scored. But the NFL 10-minute rule artificially creates them. If nobody scores or the teams trade the same scores in a 15-minute OT and it ends in a tie, fine. That's pretty cool!

I forget which one of those "small-name" advertisers made me consider that last night, but it was one of them.

How much revenue do you have to bring in to cover the cost of a Super Bowl commercial, and do all these companies have the ability to generate that sort of revenue with their product?

On a smaller scale, I have sometimes thought that about the cost of a full-page newspaper ad.

Watching everything on delay with YouTube TV and skipping over commercials is the best.

There's one TV program annually where I don't think that's the best. And this is the one. Somebody always turns out a memorable bit.

Lindt is a 180-year-old Swiss chocolatier with $5 billion in revenue.

Hell, if they can pay Roger Federer, they can pay for a Super Bowl ad.

The Super Bowl wasn't going to go two full OT quarters because the Chiefs said if the Niners had scored a TD on their first possession and they scored a TD, they were going for two. They weren't going to be trading scores a la college.

Saw a stat on twitter somewhere I forget, sorry I can't credit the guy. Starting in the 2019 season, the Chiefs are 5-1 in playoff games where they trailed by 10 or more points at some time in the game. In that span, in similar games, the rest of the NFL is 6-48.

Just wild that Mahomes has only lost in the playoffs when Dee Ford lined up offsides, the O-line lost three starters and he was likely concussed against the Bengals.
