SAGU is in Waxahachie, about an hour south of Dallas, and it's one of my favorite towns ever, probably because two of our favorite artists - Carl Block and Bruce Webb - both live there. We own multiple pieces by both of them. That being said, I'd still never let my kid go to SAGU/Nelson.

Oooh, are they affiliated with the creepy radio preacher from there that used to buy overnight ad time on WWL out of New Orleans to push Newswatch Magazine? That was amazing to ironically listen to on long drives.

It's OK. The ACC's implosion is not impending.

Wolfpack winning the tournament was the last seal.

No surprise here. Clemson has always been in lock step with FSU. Filing this right after the ACC Tournament and NCAA selections -- but before the first jump ball is tossed -- looks like it has an evil purpose: buzzkill after a better-than-expected Selection Sunday for the league they seek to destroy.

They'll gladly cause a distraction for their own basketball team if they can cause angst for the other four ACC teams in the field.
If it were somehow possible for Clemson and FSU to latch on with the SEC but for the exit gates to shut thereafter, I'd support a settlement with the confederates and move on. But we all know that ain't happening.

When FSU and Clemson leave, the Big 12 should just cede its two easternmost teams - WVU and UCF - to the ACC, and add OSU and WSU to remain at 14. Makes geographic sense for both leagues. Eliminates all possibilities of an anti-trust lawsuit or some other lawsuit by WSU and OSU. CFP dispersals can remain the same.

I suppose a UCF-WVU trade for Stanford and Cal probably makes even more sense. But that still leaves somebody down two teams and I'm sure the SEC would demand more money since it got bigger, that money to come from the ACC, which just got smaller.

Even though Virginia probably views the Mountaineers as their red-headed stepchild, WVU has always made more sense in the ACC than the Big 12. And it gives Pitt back one of its two natural rivals, the one that actually pays attention to it and treats it as an equal.

The whole argument against WVU went out the window when the ACC grabbed Louisville to replace Maryland.
