This was a talking point in a union stewards meeting last election cycle. Mom's For Liberty and other MAGA sympathizers running for local offices, but their sole interest is their agenda, not fixing roads, better test scores, etc.

 

MfL are trying to overrun school boards. Then they get control of the super, which gets them control of the curriculum. Etc.

 

Boards of Ed have long been a backdoor into local politics.

 

The problem is M4L and associated groups were able to do a fuckton of damage to education and libraries and general access to books that kids might want to read and libraries should be carrying in four years. Great they are losing now, but that damage still has to be undone.

 

Johnatakis can be seen prominently in January 6th footage, organizing the crowd to push back against the police line, coordinating violent attacks, and at one point shouting, "it’s over," into a megaphone at the crowd. "Michael Pence has voted against the president. We are down to the nuclear option."

The Moms For Liberty have only a limited footprint in this state but the Shiite Baptists have taken the playbook and absolutely crushed the library systems in this state. They aren’t going to be satisfied until you can’t check out anything racier than Dick & Jane and there is an LGBTQ body count to their name.
