The cruelty to brown people is the point.

You should listen to ideas, rather than rejecting opinions from people you would consider Republican because of what you think the party is because of Trump.

I’ll listen to you answer me this: what does the Republican Party stand for in 2024 and what laws are they aggressively pursuing to support these policies?

Politicians, of all stripes, buy votes every time they bring pork home to their district.

What ideas do the Republicans have that don't involve making it easier for absurdly rich white men and making it harder for literally everybody else?

I don't listen to their ideas because all their ideas are shit.

There are no ideas in the party that can happen without trump. And he’s a corrupt criminal who cares about nothing but himself and revenge.

Discussing any ideas why he remains the entirety, the only voice, of the party is utterly fucking pointless.

I’m absolutely open to discussion on fiscal policy. But absolutely none of it matters until the threat of him getting back into office is over.

Maybe some in your party will regain their senses. Or at least their courage to speak their minds when he’s gone.

Here’s the problem: While not a monolith, it’s increasingly becoming one. Anyone who stands up to Trump is becoming less and less relevant in today’s GOP. Anyone who does is getting primaries or retiring. Anyone left isn’t daring to stand up to Trump. Their views, by extension, are becoming more Trumpian. They either are silent or they actively embrace the views. It’s becoming harder to distinguish the Chamber of Commerce Republicans from the MAGA nut bars. It’s like saying you hate the speech but you love that he keeps the trains moving. The silence is complacency and the compromises in values eventually turn into values.

I wish we had more Mitt Romney or Lincoln Projects but we don’t. Instead we have sycophants, cowards, opportunists and straight fascists. And until the GOP does more to abandon extremism, they have to wear that even “good ones” with “ideas worth listening to” are Trumpian. The GOP must decide what it is because there’s no fence sitting anymore.

Oh and the difference in the whattabouts then and now: What is being Whattabouted. Trump is a racist courting NAZIs, but what about her emails?

If the TrumpFascist Party wants people to quit dismissing their "ideas" (haw haw) because they've seen as under the control of Fatfuck, they need to drive him out of their party.

Quite to the contrary, people are being driven out of the party for insufficient eagerness to suck his tiny toadstool.

The "republican" party as currently exists needs to be destroyed. Not defeated -- destroyed.

The template needs to be the denazification of postwar Germany.

I'vw read that the reason Markie Post killed it on game shows wss that she worked on them when first got to LA.

And the GOP seems more intent on standing against whatever the Dems are for these days - it has forced them into some very awkward positions. The partisanship has become crucial - to both parties surely - that parties are more interested in drawing firm differences between themselves, than working together for the common good. Guessing part of it is like two herds of cattle you don't want to mingle and "get confused" about which "herd" they favor - easier to keep them as far apart as possible to avoid that.

Yeah. That couldn’t have looked more staged.

He’s not going anywhere “in public” that hasn’t been thoroughly vetted and stocked with his sycophants and paid actors (who better get the money up front). He remembers that Nationals game when he had no say in the crowd and was booed.

As usual, he makes it so over the top that’s is blatantly obvious. Forget the fact no current or former president would ever do a pop in like that.
