Drones launched from Iran will take approximately nine hours to reach Israel. I won't be surprised if all of them are intercepted and destroyed. Why not just send Netanyahu a letter bomb? Much cheaper and just about as likely to succeed.

I could be hellaciously wrong here but it kind of feels like that might be some of the point. Issue a "proportional response" that demonstrates you're mad but stops short of engaging the U.S. fully. Isn't that kind of what they did when we blew up Suleimani? (And then 20 GIs got concussions and it was a thing on Fox News for three days).

Kidnapping an Israeli container vessel with hundreds of millions of dollars of cargo is a tad north of "proportional."

The ball is in Bibi's court. Long story short, it's on like Donkey Kong.

And Bibi welcomes it because it keeps him a "wartime leader' for the duration.

Honestly, in the world of global politics - Iran knows Israel will be able to avoid damage from the drones - but it shows Iranians they have "responded" to the previous attack. So they look like they have done something, which hopefully doesn't inspire Israel to respond and they call it good. Similar to the US blowing up a radar station somewhere after a minor terror attack overseas.

Oh, they just had their bells rung. /Trump

I see that we have shot down some of the Iranian drones/missiles. Unless our facilities were at risk, this is not a smart move.

I agree that Israel is capable of taking care of their own without us chiming in. Probably more capable. Without the US getting necessarily involved, which might yet still happen, but now is not the time.
