That rally race challenge would have been absolute murder on my allergies.

I wonder if the teams would play this different if they weren’t traveling together. I get giving help to a team in your alliance, but I wouldn’t hang back when I could be moving to the next task/pit stop.

The alliances this season have been odd, IMO. During roadblocks your teammate can’t help at all but it appears an opposing team member can straight up give you the answers? I think a rule should be put in place against that. That being said it appears Danny/Angie created an early and strong partnership with (Amber/Vinny ?) that has certainly aided in keeping both teams in the race. Rod’s personality has allowed him to form temporary alliances and will continue to do so. I’m enjoying the relationship of Danny and Angie.

This is what I was going to ask about. It seems like there are times when it's OK for teams to help each other, and times when it isn't. But when they are/aren't isn't really clear to me. Maybe they're just letting the race, itself, and those actively involved at the time (so not the sitting-out partners) play out as it may? I seem to remember that that was how it was during early seasons of TAR.

Just an observation: It seemed like Vinny and Amber had much more trouble cycling on the recycling challenge than the other teams that did it. I wondered if their bike was on some different setting that made it harder, and they didn't realize it...

I love the show and am enjoying the season but the 90-minute episodes are too long and boring. I don't need to see all the teams welding and hammering five times each. Or drumming and singing. There's a lot of driving, too.

I think I wrote earlier in the thread, the challenges, while difficult for the teams, are not visually exciting for viewers.

I know that the episodes have been in the can for some time, but I have advice to my team, Amber & Vinny: Don't get married. Just don't. If you're going to be like this to each other now, it's going to be a brutal marriage. And, for being ER nurses, they sure don't handle pressure well.

And, I wanted to see the firefighters succeed (being the son of a retired firefighter), but here's hoping neither of them are driving rigs for their departments with their awful sense of direction.

Jeez Amber and Vinny. Vinny is such a condescending douchebag. I would have smacked him, live TV or no, had I been Amber.

Felt bad for Juan and Shane. Having to battle through food poisoning must be hell during this Race.

I've had trouble connecting with the teams, including my own that got eliminated this week.

Honestly, I've liked Danny and Angie the best so far, but overall, I'm struggling to find a real, relatable and compelling rooting interest this season. Compared to last season, it has been a let-down, and I'm not sure why, although I know last season was kind of unusual, and even extraordinary, as far as the teams' relate-ability and likeability.

Anyway, this is an unusual state of things for me with The Amazing Race, but I think I just feel like I don't really know these teams at all -- because of the lack of connection, I guess.

I think part of it is just the production of it. Considering this was the older season filmed with COVID precautions in mind, you don't have the issues with travel, there's that stupid starting in groups, and they still haven't left Latin/South America. It's almost like that weird family season when they spent practically the whole season in the US.

But yeah, the team dynamics were much better last season. If I had to pick a team, it probably would be Angie and Danny.

This "staying with your crew" rule seems like something total BS that they made up. It should be the crew's responsibility to keep up with the racers.

This is something that hasn't happened in any of the other 35 seasons? Or is this one of those "production errors" they've referred to on past occasions?
