A few weeks ago someone defended “Hang Mike Pence “ by saying that people say those things at protests. He said it was no different than people yelling “Pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon.” at BLM protests.

First, there is no honest assessment of January 6 that compares it to the summer 2020 protests.

Second, nobody ever yelled “Pigs in a blanket, fry them like bacon” at one of those protests. It only happened in Tommi Lahren’s imagination.

 

I just gotta say that if this is the case, then just about half the country is totally off-base. Because every MAGA and MAGA-adjacent in this nation thinks they are absolutely comparable. Or, at least that's their public stance.

 

Not to mention we're not in the prohibition era any longer and you can just make this shit and sell it legally, instead of build some ramshackle contraption in the woods.

 

The 2020 protests were in response to something that really happened. January 6 was a result of lies.

Nobody was trying to overturn an election in the summer of 2020.

There’s a big difference between looting a Target and attacking the Capitol building.

There were dozens of protests in the summer of 2020 involving millions of people. Relatively speaking there wasn’t much violence.

There was one Jan. 6 terrorist attack that was entirely violent. There is no such thing as a non-violent J6 protester.

No Democrats encouraged violence in 2020. Trump incited violence on Jan . 6.

As you can see, they are not even kinda, sorta the same thing.

 

And justice was properly carried out to the person who caused that something to happen. The end. Or should have been.

 

Some of those same people didn't think COVID was real. That masks did nothing. That vaccines didn't help. That Trump would overturn the election.
But enough about some of my family members.
