I’m not sure … anyone who follows hockey in the slightest will want to see the game’s best player try to win the Cup. But the Oilers aren’t there yet.

Has to set a record for airmiles travelled at least.

For sure. And probably no direct flights between Miami and Edmonton for media, so probably fly through Denver. Looking at probably seven hours plus a couple of hours for a layover.

Could be worse. Could be Stars-Panthers, a matchup between two teams with zero cachet in either country.

    More than the Kings-Montreal finals?

Edmonton-Miami is slightly longer than Los Angeles-Montreal.

Vancouver-New York is just shorter than those two.

When I was flying home, for the first time in my career, my brain was fried from work and I was glad the season was over. I remember thinking, "I am so happy not to have to go back to Montreal again."

    Good for Edmonton.

    Long day for Bill Daly.

    Sunrise on Saturday.

    Edmonton on Sunday.

And no one touched the trophies he presented.

Maybe Florida wins it bc of their experience from last year but Eastern Conference teams who don’t see him consistently are going to have a hard time stopping McDavid. He’s the Jordan, Ali, Messi, Brady etc of his sport. When he wants it he’s hard to deny.
