Watched “The Boys In The Boat” tonight.
    Very well done.
I absolutely loved seeing overhead shots of rowing.
Typical Clooney greatness……which by the way…..I’m geeked about seeing the new one with him and Pitt.

"CODA", on Apple. It won two best supporting actor Oscars. It's about a deaf family, father, mother, and son, and their youngest, a hearing daughter. Remarkable film, just wonderful.

Thelma; funny, heartwarming, and subtle examination of the various considerations as one ages. We went in large part because I was fascinated that the lead is 94! (Sad that we lost Richard Roundtree just after this was finished.)

Watched two on a long flight. American Fiction, I absolutely loved it. One of the best and most original movies I’ve seen in a while. Great writing and perfectly cast.

Also watched Anyone But You. I thought it was cute and dumb. Perhaps a bit more interesting than the usual rom com but pretty standard.

Sydney Sweeney is a smoke show. Which is good as she certainly didn’t get the part because of her acting skills. But it was forgettable dumb fun.

North Sea Hijack (nee Ffolkes) starring Roger Moore as a freelance black ops specialist who hates women but likes knitting, matching snarls with terrorist Anthony Perkins. Amazing there was no sequel, but then again I mostly watched it for the spectacular f/x miniatures.

Moore hating women??? That's not very Bond-like.

I watched The Blues Brothers on Prime the other night. First time I've watched it in years. While I won't argue that it's a great film, the musical numbers/set pieces are still spectacular.

I saw it recently too and enjoyed seeing the JFK, RFK, MLK and Malcolm X pics in Cab's apartment.....and then again in Ray's shop.

It's an incredibly tongue-in-cheek film filled with dry humor. (Which I love.) I won't argue it operates beyond two or three levels but like with Starship Troopers, a lot of people just don't get it.

I'm far beyond viewing it objectively. It's one of THOSE movies for me. Loved it since I was a teen and it can do no wrong. The soundtrack remains in my music shuffle. Great stuff.

I stumbled on TBB the other day right as they were about to start the Ray Charles scene.

Goddam, so good. "I think there's plenty of life left in this piano."

    Shake your tailfeather, y'all.
