So I wasn’t the only person swearing at the TV when this happened?

A post-match show with Carli Lloyd, Alexi Lalas and Clint Dempsey.

Seriously, why does FOX hate us this much?

Throw in John Strong and Stuart Holden and it's a hard mute for me. Fox is terrible at this.

    Re: Darke

Don’t rule out the difference in watching from the broadcast position vs. the TV feed. It’s not like an NFL booth where they have large monitors for replays. They are crammed into press row with inky wretches or other broadcast teams rubbing elbows with them. Plus, the international feed’s truck isn’t calling out cues before replays, so sometimes I don’t think they even see the slow-mo replay of key moments.

Alex Morgan off the Olympic squad. End of an era, I guess.

Belgium is wearing their Tintin kits today, which could be unintentionally hilarious if Lukaku blows four chances and they lose 1-0 to Ukraine and crash out (which probably won't happen but still).

18 on the roster and she hasn’t played well enough to be written in pen.

Portugal with eight lineup changes since they are assured of advancing. Is their elderly star forward resting? Nope! CR7 needs a goal!

And Georgia strikes in the second minute.

Czechs down to 10, meaning if they can't get a winning goal or the Georgians can't hold their lead, England would play the Netherlands (and Hungary meets Portugal) in the round of 16. If they can, England plays Slovakia and Hungary would be out in favor of whichever team playing now ends up in third.

How is it determined where third-place teams get placed? I should know but haven't seen anything definitive of the process other than they rank the six third-place teams by their group play finishes.

I've been going off the Wikipedia page. I think it comes down to which groups the third-placed teams come out of and then they are arranged in such a way as to avoid repeat matchups from the group stage.
