    My favorite Rickey Henderson story is that he used to reward his kids for bringing home good report cards by letting them draw one of his unopened per diem envelopes. If you managed to select the one for a nine-game opposite coast swing, jackpot.

    Always thought more than a few players would have been wise to get that kind of deal. After they've blown most of their earnings, had it stolen by their money people or lost in divorce or bad business decisions - Surprise! More money for you!
