I saw Katrina and Matthew first-hand. I’d bet unimaginable is hyperbole.

I guess the 'unimaginable' part stems from Grenada not really having the recovery mechanisms that we do.
You must have been at Bragg for Matthew. That's the one I spent the night sleeping in my truck in Pembroke.

Took one spin around the ol' Twitterverse to find that the right-wing nuts are now saying that Beryl was a manufactured hurricane seeded by the government* and that climate change is not real.

That's enough for me today, thanks.

*-which government? fuck if I know.

It’s part of the UN Agenda (which whatever that is).

I was in Honduras. We followed the storm across the Caribbean to Haiti.

Must of been a different Matthew. One I was in was 2016 and hit North Carolina.

Same one. It hit Hispaniola, turned north and raked the east coast

The only Monroe Doctrine country that matters is Cuba and that was only to use as a missile base

The Monroe Doctrine is bunk. It originated in 1823 during colonial times, and the British Navy actually helped enforce it at a time when the two countries were still at odds (because of common interests).

Since then just about every spot of land in the Americas has become freely independent, save a few territories ringing the Caribbean. It didn't make a ripple when the British won back the Falklands.
