How can it be a hoax if there was an actual fatality?

I mean as low an opinion I have of him and everyone around him the idea that they would sacrifice one of their own rally goers is ridiculous and a line even they wouldn’t cross.

 

“Especially soccer games” sounds like a dog whistle.

 

More thoughts:

I can't help but think about this nation's capacity to absorb and digest violent acts. We've been through this far too many times. "Thoughts and prayers" leads to "now is not the time" and then.....And I figure we'll be on to "something else" by Friday.

For a guy who is always talking about people coming from "central casting," Trump's shooter certainly was. I'm thinking he's just some misanthrope who wanted to "make a name for himself" nothing more. What's bizarre to me is that it doesn't really seem it was super planned - camo on a white rooftop? If Biden was in the area, it may have been him.

I'm all for lowering the heat on the rhetoric. I just don't expect Republicans to suddenly talk about policy in measured tones any time soon. I don't know if they have that skill set any more. Take away the rage, and how is Trump going fill a 40-minute speech? I'm serious - I don't think he's capable of "measured tones."

 

I wouldn’t trust Donald Trump to watch the loose change in my car console, but even I am not cynical enough to think he’d have one of his own supporters killed right in front of his eyes to pull some kind of Saturday night rasslin’ stunt. Check back in a year and I might be, but as of today no.
