Well, a friend of mine is working for NBC News in Paris. I do think they have a bureau up and running.

Charlie Jones missing the call in Seoul comes to mind quickly. He caught it immediately and instantly owned it.

"Photo finish" has been a familiar horse racing term from WAY back. Spike Jones' wacky version of the William Tell Overture, released in 1948, includes this line: "It's very close -- it'll either be a photo finish or an oil painting!"

Sounds like a Trump rally [/crossthread]. What's with the giant-size cutouts behind the dais?

Seriously, isn't IBA no longer recognized by the IOC because of shenanigans like this?

Post link appears to be gifted. And a damn good read. Only quibble: Aptos, not Santa Cruz. Of course she still holds the Aptos High School records in the 1600 and 3200 meter races, per a sign posted inside the gym, located near Trevin Dilfer Memorial Stadium.

Kilgore did a fine job on that story. Long but interesting and worth the time.
