Listening to Slick Willie and reflecting a bit:
I voted for Bush in '92 and Dole in '96 because that's what I was conditioned to do. I can't think of any other reason why. I was a Gen Xer in my 20s coming into my own. Why in the world would I have not voted for Clinton? Dumbassery is about the only reason I can conclude.
Y'all can hate all you want about the clothes and music of the '90s. I was a Navy veteran, factory worker, college student, and broke-ass sports writer, but dang I lived a good life during the Clinton years.

He’s given permission for Republicans to mispronounce Kamala the rest of her life. Twice.

In my case, voting against Clinton was sold as a prerequisite to getting to heaven. I know you aren’t really religious, but you and I both live in a part of the world where those attitudes drive everything, even more so three decades ago.

Clinton was my first vote for president. But it was damn near Ross Perot.

Hearing Clinton say he doesn’t know how many more of these he has left made me sad. I remember watching him get the democratic nomination with Fleetwood Mac blasting when I was 15 years old.

I noticed his hand trembling quite a bit. I fear he may know the number in his heart.

It was a magical, unusual time. July 1992. I was 17, about to go to college. Working for the Clinton campaign once I got there.

A truly generational shift in November 1992.
