NC's Mark Robinson, ladies and gentlemen!

    https://businessnc.com/upcoming-cnn-story-has-robinson-on-defense/

The reported story makes explosive allegations regarding statements the national network says Robinson made on an online message board in 2009, Williams says. Robinson did not hold elected office until 2021, after his successful campaign for lieutenant governor in 2020.

“The main ones I remember were that they were alleging he made some extremely racist comments about Martin Luther King, referred to himself as a Black Nazi and used antisemitic language referring to Jews,” Williams stated in the text message.

Robinson denies making those statements. “He 100% denied it when I spoke to him,” says Williams.

At a lunch with business owners in Charlotte this week, Robinson said he is very pro-Israel and denied holding anti-Semitic views.

While Endgame is working on the campaign, Williams said he is not officially working on Robinson’s campaign team.

CNN had not posted a story about Robinson on its website at 12:30 p.m. today.

Robinson faces Attorney General Josh Stein, who is the Democratic Party candidate for governor.

The Carolina Journal, a conservative-leaning Raleigh publication, cited sources with direct knowledge as saying that members of Donald Trump’s campaign are pressing Robinson to withdraw from the governor’s race because of the pending CNN story.

A Robinson campaign spokesman said there is no truth to rumors that Robinson will step aside.

To the extent that some governors (and state legislatures) have a hand in gerrymandering and redistricting, Governor Leghorn absolutely plays a role in national politics.

Not to mention the ones in states like Texas and Florida who basically dictate bowdlerized textbooks to the rest of the nation

So evidently this is adult websites AND racist comments combined - he was commenting Nazi stuff on porn sites or something like that. GOP Mad Libs, basically.

I'm fascinated to see what could be so bad that Trump is finally disavowing Robinson and the party is trying to pressure him to withdraw before the deadline this afternoon.

None of what's in that bare bones report on the rumors is in and of itself surprising. Robinson was spewing all sorts of craziness on Facebook (and I'm sure elsewhere, but Facebook is where I mostly encountered it) in the late 2000s/early 2010s. A lot of it was antisemitic and a decent amount of it has already been reported on (though not until he already won the 2020 primary).

The porn stuff from a few weeks back was legit new, but also in the category of "It's only news because of his hypocrisy."

Maybe it's just the slow drip has finally filled the bucket.

North Carolina voters are good ticket splitters. But the race appears super tight. Hopefully the piece of shit gov candidate is enough to sink the piece of shit orange traitor.

This is absolutely because someone in the Trump campaign convinced Trump Robinson was costing him North Carolina.

Absolutely agree. The stuff that’s KNOWN about Robinson is disqualifying, yet the maga cult easily got him the nomination.

What could possibly be worse is than what’s out there? This is definitely senile trump filling his diaper. Again.

First they came for Yacht Rock and I said nothing.....

Proud to be a founding member of WDfH. I've received compliments on my hat. Very solid ad. Really speaks to the voters they are hoping to reach.

The Trump-Harris polling numbers seem to really be "off" when you look at underlying numbers. Generic Congressional Approval, Independent numbers etc. I also don't know how much they factor in enthusiasm and commitment to voting. Its true that lawn signs don't vote, but the campaign is selling them for $15 each AND getting contact information from everyone who buys. Trump/Vance signs are available for free, they get no information, there is no commitment.

    Not all that compelling.

Would have been better to show a bunch of toothless, "fuck your feelings" white dudes from his rallies and just asking, "Is this you? It's not me. And I'm tired of being lumped in with that crowd. . . "
