Jake Bauers struck out in 34% of his plate appearances and hit .199 during the regular season.
Sal Frelick has hit five HR in 666 regular-season ABs in two years.
They both clobbered the ball. Go figure. Just when it looked like a perpetual scoreless draw, the Brewers make big contact.

Pulling a starting pitcher with great stuff after only 94 pitches in a do or die game. I don’t understand.

I am sorry for all of the horrible things I have said about the Polar Bear.

Devin Williams is not related to Mitch Williams. Although I could see where the parallels would be drawn.

Baseball breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops.

I’m neutral in this series, so I can empathize with the heartbreak of Brewers fans.

But wow, what a clutch moment for Big Pete!

Standing in Section 111 in disbelief. It was a blur.
