    Our local meteorologist - who spends his days speaking to elementary schools and congregations across the state, is nationally respected and quoted when it comes to tornado science and coverage and could probably become governor of Alabama by proclamation - posted this earlier today:

    All of those are conspiracies he had to debunk on his Facebook page last week.

    Our local news last night did a story on the FEMA efforts to push back against spread of misinformation online. What they didn't so was say who the majority of these people are who are pushing these conspiracy theories, and why they are saying these things.

    It's the cult of MAGA. Maybe take a step and add that bit of reporting. You're the reporter. Find a way to report the WHO part of the story. Seems important.

    I guess it's probably a Sinclair station and they fact they even the story was something. But it's not enough.

    Just pull up X for the "who." The spread of misinformation starts there and will never end as long as Musk owns it.

    Which is why I'm more and more convinced that a Harris White House shouldn't use X and every federal agency should vacate it too. "But it's an essential news source and important in emergencies!" Bullshit. People managed before X.
