The Seattle Times, a family-owned news organization and one of the nation’s premier regional news sources, is seeking a general-assignment Sports Reporter. This person will cover a variety of topics as needed, including NBA expansion and the Kraken, in one of the nation’s most competitive sports markets. This reporter will be a proven digital and print journalist who is a self-starter and equally adept at breaking news, analysis, storytelling and enterprise while building reader loyalty through thorough reporting and lively, authoritative writing.

I believe their Kraken beat writer, Geoff Baker, is leaving the paper to join the team’s front office staff. He’s a good reporter who will be missed.

ICYMI, this one's been filled. And one of the better farewell notes I've seen.

Glad to see the business is still full of fellow rock nerds.

Good hire for the Seattle Times, too.

Yup. Went from the Seahawks for AP on Sunday to Kraken sidebars for the Times on Tuesday.
Wonder how AP fills his spot?

That's two good AP sports writers leaving AP in recent weeks, after Ralph Russo jumped to The Athletic.
