I’ve got 36 hours to ponder firing on this. This would get me to $3300.

 

I want to commit to doing one of those ladder challenges where you try to win your way to 10k by starting with 10 bucks and doubling your bets for 10 in a row.

How hard is it to press PLACE BET when you get up to, say, $800 on the line?

 

I have seven books in my jurisdiction that I can get action down on. The Freeman NO was split between 4 books.

That’s where it’ll get tricky.

Kicking myself a little. Was looking to fire on all three Serie A games over O.5 goals, Tulane ML and Jets-Texans under 57.5. That would have paid -175 as a five-legger and hit.

 

I don’t mean hard as in difficult, I mean hard as in can you bring yourself to do it?

 

Bartender was asking me who I was taking last night in Texans-Jets. Said I liked the Jets, just because of Houston's injury situation and the Jets' desperation. I liked them by at least a TD, so I teased the -2 up to -6.5 to get +189 odds. Nice little baby win.

 

Not yet. But I know I will on the next one.

however, it’s all house money.

I am probably 50/50 on just taking what I’ve made so far and using that for the tuition.

 

I’m gonna ladder my Bally bonus winnings. See if I can get myself to a sweaty bet.

They gave me six $25 bonus bets for starting an account and betting $25. I won $200 on that for hitting Brook Lopez on a first basket. Then won four of the six bonus bets so I’ve got just over 100 in there.

Think I’ll withdraw and put it in FanDuel, where I’ve got an NBA profit boost. Cavs -7 is looking delicious. They’ve won four of their five by double digits and covered every game. Also, Banchero is out for Orlando. Hopefully double my money for football Saturday.

 

A so-so college football schedule, no late games, and an out of town wedding that'll have me running around all day Saturday led me to limit my action this week, and also to do something silly.
Taking a cue from @exmediahack, I started stacking favorites on a parlay ticket. Every single one that looked good to me, plus three reasonable underdogs (Northwestern, Vanderbilt and UCLA). Ended up with a 10-leg, $5 parlay that'll pay $1,034 if it hits. It'll probably be kaput by halftime of the early window, but I figure checking the list Saturday night will be like looking at a Powerball ticket.

 

FanDuel used to do $25 First Basket Fridays on the late TNT game. If you lost, you got the amount of points that player scored as a refund.

Mikal Bridges was my choice every time the Suns were on. Me, co-anchor, two reporters and the producer and photographer would gather around the TV for the first basket at 9:40 pm. Right before the 10 pm.

Bridges hit THREE times that year. About $250-300 each time. And every time it hit, we’d go out for free. Good for newsroom morale.

 

Never underestimate my ability to find something dumb to bet on during happy hour. Luton-West Brom 0-1 at half. It’s on CBS Sports Network so I take the draw at +250. Luton scores, it holds. Cash!

*Yes, I’m a Watford supporter and I felt gross wanting Luton to score, but sometimes you have to bet head over heart.

 

When I was betting League Two and the 9 am Romanian games on Fridays, it might be gotten a little much. Plus the Israeli 7 am starts.
