After an exhausting day at the ol’ truth factory — complete with local Republicans feeling their oats and delivering a giant FU to our reporters — I’m staying up because I’m a glutton for punishment and won’t sleep well anyway.

I do know that if someone is selling “Enemy Within” T-shirts I will buy one and wear it proudly. This madman is not my president.

Why shouldn’t he, other than that he’s going to say something completely incoherent and stupid? He won, apparently legitimately. It’s not going to make anything, like, worse.

The other day, I predicted a polling error and that while we may not have an official result on Election Day, we would have a strong indication of where things were headed.

I was right, except the error was in the wrong direction.

Instead of a +3 swing to Harris, it looks like an even larger swing to Trump.

This has been a full on repudiation of the Democratic party. Harris' loss has not only put Trump back in the White House, but other Democrats are going down with her.

I knew all scenarios were possible in a close race. But this result is stunning in its thoroughness. I am in shock at the likelihood of Trump sweeping the battlegrounds. It almost feels unfathomable.

I don't blame Kamala Harris one bit. You can nitpick over her campaign, but based on these results, nothing she could have reasonably done would have swayed enough voters to hold back this tide.

There will be significant fear and anxiety in the weeks and months ahead. It is warranted. Trump is the closest to a dictator that we have had in the modern presidency. Worse, there are vultures circling, waiting to feast on the carcasses of the programs and services he will gleefully dismantle.

My only hope is that his incompetence will combine with the self-preservation instinct of enough politicians to hold him back enough to prevent the worst from happening.

I had to quit watching the election coverage. SportsCenter has never seemed so good.

Gotta watch what you post from here on out -- here and anywhere else on the internet.

Because somewhere in the dark, they're listening. And logging. When they're ready, they'll come.

It happened before; it will happen again.

Not that it matters but he just claimed victory in every state not called and that he won the popular vote, as well as every outstanding senate state and they retained the house
