The political fundraising emails are almost all gone from my inbox (fuck off, Bob Casey) , replaced by offers from purveyors of goods and services I purchased once upon a time, sometimes decades ago (Harvard athletics is a particularly faithful correspondent. Nature is healing.

Alma, maybe Republicans can stop being angry all the time now that they've gotten what they want ... and take that occasion to be funny even one time.

Voters don’t respect being nice. Donald Trump told everyone who would listen that their country sucks, their military is incompetent and that half the population should be shot on site. He made his party eat dog shit from the halls of Congress down to the trailer park guy with the tattered Rebel flag out front. And most of them lined up to ask for an extra scoop.

Time to stop being pussies. Time to shove this shit back in their faces. Alcoholic daddy ain’t going to be satisfied if you hide in the corner and beg him to stop. Punch him in the face so he’ll learn.

I'm worrying Fetterman flips to R at this point.

I'll add to that something Willie Brown said on his KCBS radio hit yesterday. Harris' campaign was run by a lot of Biden's people, not hers. Could it have made a difference?

This is one criticism I agree with.

She should have done every interview possible. She started to late. But she should've done it from the start.

Rogan interview would have generated only fodder for the Murdoch mill, not votes.

As we sit here today, yeah, didn't seem to do much. But at the time it was smart to go into that hornet's nest with the doofus Baier. The point is you don't choose X over Y, you take anything with a significant audience. It's also obvious the Dems need to figure out the Latino outlets and podcasts and hit those just as hard as the NYTs and WaPos.

What should Biden/Harris have done on January 21, 2021 to stop price of a head of lettuce from increasing 20% in the past four years?
Because for the last 36 hours, it's been drilled into me that Harris lost because the cost of a head of lettuce has increased 20% (or season tickets, or a 2x4 bought at Home Depot).

So I am all ears - what specific actions should they have taken to prevent the price of a head of lettuce increasing 20%?

We've all been in the journalism/communications business in our lives. So I think it's natural we think better communications of some kind would've kept Harris from losing. But I'm with Poin. Inflation, s global phenomenon related to the pandemic and its aftermath, was the main factor in this election, coupled with so many people's insane belief that Trump is a business genius.

It was sort of like this: Harris had a couple week run at the top of the charts. Trump was like Taylor Swift with an entire album in the top 40.

It didn't matter what she said or did or what shows, podcasts, etc. she went on. Bottom line is she wasn't as popular or well known as Trump.
