I'll be curious what the response is to Tulsi Gabbard.

Same as Gaetz. Initial anonymous expressions of horror, near-unanimous support for confirmation. Leadership will whip to 50, let token dissenters cover their asses.

Gaetz is a repellent creep but, quite sadly, he's not an unfamiliar type in national politics. (Especially in the US House.)

I don't think anybody really knows what Tulsi would do in that role. She might hand over every secret to Julian Assange, for all we know.

"Presidents should be given deference in staffing their Cabinet," concluded Nichols. "But this nomination should be one of the handful of Trump appointments where soon-to-be Majority Leader John Thune and his Republican colleagues draw a hard line and say no — at least if they still care at all about exercising the Senate’s constitutional duty of advice and consent."

    We'll see if they do.

The ones speaking out about the incompetence, lack of experience and so on of the nominees are going to be shouted down, disparaged as "swamp" or Deep State" RINOs and ignored.

Tuberville already has publicly said anyone attempting to block Gaetz will be in trouble.

I look at this and I remember the scene in "Field of Dreams" where Amy Madigan confronts the town council (or Board of Education, whatever). "At least I'm not a book burner, you Nazi cow!" "Who wants to spit on the Constitution?"

Migawd, the time we are living in.

I saw that. And like anybody should be listening to Tuberville. This all just keeps getting worse and worse.

It sounds like the plot of a bad thriller novel, but if Gabbard is confirmed I could see one of the intel agencies considering having her killed.

Today, the crowd would all be wearing red hats and cheering for Beulah, the Nazi cow.
