I am not an attorney, but I'm not seeing how Gaines has any standing in this lawsuit.

She doesn't. She a paid repudlican harpy. And her eyes are way too close together. Freaky.

 

If she doesn't have standing (which, to prove, she'd have to allege "actual or imminent alleged injury that is concrete and particularized," though it remains in dispute what constitutes "concrete injury") she'll be dismissed from the case. There are other plaintiffs, and at least one of them has to meet FRCP Rule 17's elements of a "real party in interest" for the suit to continue - basically, that one of the plaintiffs has to be damaged or in danger of being damaged by the alleged conduct of the defendants.

Just my opinion, but Ms. Gaines is a sore loser who also lost to multiple women in the same race she lost to Lia Thomas, but she isn't whining about losing to them. I think she's an attention-seeking dope looking to grift as much as she can while the grifting is good.

She might be upset that she lost, and I'm sure it stings that she lost to someone who she perceives should have been part of the competition.

But losing and learning to live with it is part of life. A lot of people learn that through high school and college athletics. You reach base safely less often than you go back to the dugout. You miss more putts than you make. Systems have a tendency to equilibrate. Nature abhors a vacuum.

Gaines is just a whiny, overprivileged brat with a megaphone taking advantage of the latest culture war non-issue ginned up by the Ultra-Right.

It sure sounds like Ms. Gaines is miffed because she didn't get her trophy for (checks story for the third time) TYING FOR FIFTH. FUCKING. PLACE.

She didn't get a participation award, and now we're all gonna hear about it.

 

That's all true, but based on the comments I've heard and read from her, she is also a bigot. Let's not forget that part.

 

She has expanded her portfolio to include being an anti-vaxxer as well.

A week after the lawsuit became news, and it has been much longer than that since it got leaked somewhere, the Coloradoan finally writes on at least the CSU collusion allegation.

 

Is it too much to ask reporters to include a link to the actual lawsuit whenever they write about a lawsuit?

 

The fact "FileNotFound" wrote this made me giggle.
