56% of the Celtics shots are threes. If Tatum's numbers look good, the three is falling. If the team is winning, Horford's threes are falling.

I said that the other day. Move it back at least five feet, and extend it from sideline to sideline in an arc and eliminate the corner three. Because three after three is tedious to watch. Three true outcomes: three, dunk or turnover.

I’m a bit of a hypocrite, though, because I loved watching when Klay or Steph or others would get on a heater and just start raining threes from crazy, deep angles.

    I'm right there with you.

These games are turning into HORSE. I was watching the Suns game last night - Nurkic had the ball standing directly under the basket and was searching frantically for someone behind the 3 point line to pass to. C'mon, man.

Not really. They only really started spamming threes during the last title year. They were pretty balanced during the peak years. The Rockets of that era were more egregious in that regard.

    PERCENT OF SHOTS FROM 3
    '14-'15 - 31%
    '15-'16 - 36%
    '16-'17 - 36%
    '17-'18 - 34%
    '21-'22 - 46%

Sports radio in Boston was talking about the three and one idea was to change scoring. A regular basket would be 3 points and something behind the line would be 4.

Sitting in my dark apartment, flaccid, watching the Lakers go 2-for-8 at the line in the final minutes and lose on a Wagner 3 with 2 seconds left. Agh.

I know we're not supposed to say athletes ever choke, but I feel like when a good FT shooter misses two free throws in a clutch situation, it's the one time you can say someone absolutely did. AD is an 80 percent FT shooter on the year. Makes 1 of 2 with 30 seconds, then botches both with 18 seconds. Wagner hits the 3. (I also say this from experience as in JUCO I was put in specifically to get fouled at end of games. Against eventual national champ I got fouled with us up 1 with like 8 seconds left. Missed the first; could practically feel my dad's rage from the stands. Missed the second. Total choke job, could feel the nerves. But...as the guy rebounded my second brick, the ball was right there. I stole it and threw the ball in the air to run out the clock, my homage to Magic's clock-killing play against Portland in 91 WCF and also a way to not get fouled again.)

I've never believed that players can be clutch, but I absolutely believe that players can choke.
