Love the pops you can hear at the start of the record.

I like this video for the immortals who show up -- Dave Brubeck, Dizzy Gillespie, Clark Terry and, of course, T-Bone Walker.

I love The Replacements, bubi have always thought Westerberg could be a little too clever in his later songwriting.

Sounds like he was using a rhyming dictionary. I guess his brilliance was the cleverness and poetry while having meaning.

But anything after Bobby Stinson sucks.

The new Father John Misty record is probably his best since Honeybear, top to bottom. Can't stop listening to it.

Name all the bands that are credited with inventing punk.

These guys are the opener for next Friday night's Hold Steady Massive Nights at Brooklyn Bowl. Not missing it, this band totally grabbed me on first listen.

    The Who
    The MC5
    The Ramones
    The Stooges
    The Troggs
    The New York Dolls
    The Sex Pistols

    I'm probably missing a bunch, but that's a start.

I read an article that claimed The Modern Lovers were punk.

That feels like a significant stretch.

I've probably put this up before, but I just watched it and it's still damn good. Lyle Lovett and a whole stage full of guys who are excellent musicians take a run at Townes Van Zant's "White Freightliner". So damn good.

I suppose that there are some folks who don't know, so here's a White Freightliner.
