Board games are the worst. Remember, I don't like people. Even people who individually I would rush into a fire or tackle a bear to defend, collectively, I don't like people. I'd rather hang out with the bear because I know he wouldn't annoy me.
It doesn't help that I can get intense playing games. When it's one of my sister-in-law's turn, and she's obliviously yakking instead of rolling the dice, I have been known to snap.

Realizing as an adult how spoiled I was as a child to have grandparents that had pool tables at both of their homes. Could sneak down into the basement and either not be bothered or have something I enjoyed doing while interacting with the people who bothered me.

Potential drama at family Thanksgiving probably dialed down a notch when my niece, her boyfriend and his two young daughters and dog cancelled due to illness. We still will have elderly parents, two sisters who really can't get on the same page in dealing with our parents, a young adult on the autism spectrum, and the rest of us.

Kinda bummed, CBS isn't broadcasting the Macy's Parade this year. Always preferred their presentation to NBC's which seemed to be mostly musical performance before the parade even arrived at their location. CBS used to air multiple parades as part of the their production. Detroit, Hawaii maybe Philadelphia.
But I'm sure glad I'll be reminded that Wicked is in theaters now by NBC about a dozen times.

Board games are for close family after the others go home. When everyone is there it’s Rook time.

I'm sure my dad will be the one who opens the can of worms by asking my brother in law - so you really voted for Trump? And people wonder why I will be watching the Cowboys - Giants game intently.

Mom, 85, still hosts and makes the turkey and stuffing and lunch for 15. We are very lucky to have her. I’m thankful for her and the rest of my family and those I’ve never met here. Have a great holiday however you’re doing it.
