"OMG Joe Biden pardoned Hunter!" is another example of the "Kamala Harris didn't offer specific details of her plans while Donald Trump is blowing the microphone" double standard.

Fuck it. I'm glad he pardoned his son. This the government MAGA voted for ...

Trump had boxes and boxes of classified info in a bathroom at a Mar-A-Lago.

"Well, that's different!"

 

Biden's public career will make a great opera some day. It is time the Dems play by the same rules as the GOP, vis a vis - No Rules. Dems keep playing to the media, thinking that will get them "credit" with voters. It doesn't. My only criticism is that they didn't couch the pardon in language saying "concern over the future of the Justice Department and the federal courts given Trump's statements and statements made by some of his nominees led to the pardon." Put Trump on the defensive. Sure its BS, but there was a way to put some top spin on the thing.

 

You know this is a discussion forum, right? It was a topic of interest.

 

What else could Biden do in this situation, right? It doesn't look pristine, duhhh, but there's a deranged monster on the way in, and he talks like public lynchings excite him.

Hunter ain't down there on a level with with Flynn, Bannon or Manafort, either.

 

When I saw the predictable email blast from the NYT about how this is oh so terrible and they’ve hopelessly complicated things now and this is just as bad as anything Trump did, yada yada, it occurred to me what they were really saying.

“We are still important gatekeepers! All knowing, all judging! The world operates on the terms we dictate! We matter!”

And they aren’t any of that. The leg lamp cannot be glued back together. Guns of the Old West is more influential in the life of America than any daily paper or broadcast network news show. You may as well advocate for the forward pass to be illegal. It is over.

 

I fully expect the Supreme Court to discover a new constitutional power where an incoming President can ignore pardons signed by previous Presidents.

It would, after all, be unfair to handcuff the new administration.

 

Except it's not BS. If you're not concerned about the future of the Justice Department, the FBI, the NSA, etc., you should be.

 

The BS would be the "prime motivation" not that statements made by Trump et. al were BS.
