Pico and Bundy is getting very close to home for me. Teddy's used to be Nu-Way and had the best chili dogs around. It was open late.

Pico between Barrington and Centinela is interesting.

That section of West L.A. is the reason I went back for the third day in a row.

It's the 40-year anniversary of the Kings eliminating the up and coming powerhouse Oilers in the Smythe semis, 3 games to 2.

I've posted the Miracle on Manchester here many times but that wasn't the only historic Kings win.

I was 10 and just becoming so hot and nuts for the Kings even though they usually sucked.

The Kings were 24-41-15 that season and scored 314 goals while giving up 369.

The Oilers were 48-17-15 that season and scored 417 goals (1st) while giving up 295.

Should've been an easy 3-0 sweep.

Instead the Kings won the opener 10-8 up at the Northlands Coliseum and it set the stage for everything else.

And Bob Miller is the best play by play hockey guy in the history of the league.

Teddy's gets ★★★★ on both Yelp and Foursquare. Has a covered patio too. Looks like a good vibe.

That’s funny. Even more so is that I saw a
TGR VOL plate in my town a year ago or so.

I know there are a few of us with Bay Area ties. My goodness I would love to know where the money is going. They've already eliminated all the toll-taker jobs for FasTrak. Golden Gate Bridge could be at $10 by July. Tolls across the Bay Bridge were $1 as recently as 1990. That's a 1000 percent increase over 35 years. On some level I get it, a bridge does have finite capacity of traffic - and the GGB authority uses tolls to offset losses by ferries and bus service. But the others? And no, I guess the other bridges receive no CalTrans funding.

Bay Area bridge tolls set to increase to at least $10.50 by 2030 to cover infrastructure costs

I think the answer lies in:

    1. there is inflation of course (not 1000 over 35 yrs); and
    2. the bridges are now set up to be self-sufficient.

That last one is huge, I think the State budget used to subsidize the bridges (along with gasoline tax) but like everything else, there's been a push for "take care of it yourselves" rather than the collective pays for it. Californians are the same way about their public transit systems.
