Essentially their loss was the equivalent of Tennessee losing at Arkansas. But no one was calling for tearing Rocky Top down to the studs after that loss. (Well I was, but I advocate for weekly destruction there on principle.)

Hone fields until the championship. Autobids for conference winners are fine but they shouldn’t guarantee byes. This thing still has time to come into its own. The Super Bowl was less thrilling than PBS pledge drive most of my childhood and the NFL made out fine.

We were so close to Kirk telling us some crazy stories about lunatic Ohio State fans.

And Lane Kiffin, who somehow couldn’t find anything to tweet about during the late game.

No, those athletes don't just pop up every four years. But those athletes adorned with a country's flag pop up only once every four years.

Larry Scott thought showing "Olympic" sports (read: sports no one would pay admission to watch in person) would be the differentiator for his Pac-12 Networks. As the brilliant Jon Wilner pointed out, there were times when those live broadcasts drew no measurable ratings. As in, NO ONE watched.

One of the big-time sports cable executives who left a position and took a similar position at an up-and-coming, wannabe big-time streaming/cable player came to the same conclusion. The rights to a small school's successful niche sport aren't worth crap. Not even alumni of the schools watch powerhouse teams from their almae matres.

Well, the Big Ten did get an infusion of ... the only undefeated FBS team. Can't blame the conference for that.

The only two competitive moments in the 4 games were Clemson’s opening TD and the early interception by IU. Otherwise, that was some brutal stuff to watch as a casual fan
