As a kid watching Saturday morning cartoons I was dazzled by all of the amazing toy companies and their various products and games, Parker Bros, Tonka, Kenner, Ideal, Marx, Mattel, Hasbro etc.Now only Hasbro and Mattel remain.

We’re doing a road trip for the holidays, and we’re in an Airbnb that smells like weed. I’m in the living room with to door open trying to get some fresh air, and it’s cold outside.

From my timeline these holiday seasons. I hope they weren't complaining about eggs and gas while spending money on muliple shirts for their family

My 78-year-old mother had never seen Die Hard, so we watched that yesterday. Kinda fun.

I know it is equal parts cliche and terrible idea, but one day you wake up by yourself on Christmas, not really sure how you are going to fill the time. And so you try circling back to a past relationship to see if anything is still there, or at least enough to kill a day together.

But there is no going back to the past. You’ve changed; they’ve moved on without you. You don’t even really know any details about them now; just little details you’ve picked up in passing online. A little more than an hour in you realize this isn’t holding your interest and in fact you are too bored to even keep pretending.

    It’s time to move on.

So fare thee well NBA. At least we had some good times in the 80s and early 90s.
