Last movie you watched......

"Civil War" -- waste of time.

 

Highwaymen on Netflix, a solid retelling of the Bonnie and Clyde story from the perspective of the lawmen. Costner and Harrelson are the leads with fine support from Kathy Bates (as Tx Gov. Ma Ferguson), John Carroll Lynch and William Sadler.

 

Meet in St. Louis. Deservedly a classic but not a Christmas movie - even though the song Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was written for it.

Takes place throughout the year and for me at least, just doesn't feel like one.

 

When I stumble upon it on TCM I always stop and watch way more than a heterosexual man probably should admit to but damn the sets and costumes are amazing.

 

Feast of the Seven Fishes on Netflix as Mrs. W wanted to watched a movie on Hanukkah. Actually pretty cute and a Carmine, Jr./Ralphie reunion.

 

Seconded. I wonder how much Netflix paid for it because it seems like a perfect thing to have a theater release and make a big profit because the budget couldn't have been that high

 

I loved it. But I didn't take it too seriously. Which is probably why I loved it. But I also have a thing for the world's ending sort of media, thus my love for things like The Last of Us, The Road, the Fallout video game series, etc.

 

It required a good bit of suspension of disbelief, but what thriller doesn't? Well acted, weirdly kind of funny at times. Enjoyable couple of hours. I don't need the Washington Post stories telling me it wouldn't work that way because of TSA policy, yada, yada. Who actually believes everything in Die Hard would actually happen? That's why it's a damn movie. It's not a documentary!

 

Nosferatu. Not scary but nice and creepy and filled with a sense of dread.

But it was one of the most astounding moviegoing experiences of my life. I go to like three movies a week and this was a first.

Theater was actually packed. Oversold even, as a couple came to my row and someone was in their seats with legit tickets. Next to me was a guy in his 60s. First he disturbed me by not putting his recliner up. Just sat there like in the olden days instead of putting his legs up and relaxing.

Then, 20 minutes in, he lets loose with a pretty loud fart. It was obviously a fart. No doubt. I looked over at him and he was just staring at the screen.

The movie is like 2 hours and 20 minutes and about every 20 minutes this guy would just let loose. What the fuck? There were no open seats so I couldn't move. My cousin said he would have said something to the guy but I'm not built like that so just took it. So in the same way the Germans were living in dread of Nosferatu, so I was waiting for this guy to let one rip the rest of the movie. And then I started worrying he was going to release one at a critical point and everyone would hear and folks would start laughing while someone's neck is being ripped open.

Medical issue? I don't think so as he timed each one to a loud scene on the screen. The second the movie ended I bolted out of there because I couldn't stand being by this asshole--and his loud asshole--another second.
