I hope Miami's coach and players have the guts to eviscerate Cam Ward in the postgame pressers.

"Cam Ward quit on this team. He got his personal glory and then quit on his teammates. He may have the record, but he's the only loser on this team. He can hitchhike back to Coral Gables, and all his crap will be sitting on the sidewalk when he gets there."

The ESPN host asked if Ward contemplated coming back for that last drive with :47 left. If you're going to opt-out, do it before the game, don't play the first half and then quit.

AP wrote a glorifying 500-word sidebar on Ward that dealt exclusively with his record.

Wasn't an issue, but if I were coaching, there is less than zero chance he gets back in the game. I'd take the L before letting him back on the field.

    A) I’m guessing every single person on the Miami sideline knew the plan going in - Ward gets the record, backup gets to play after that.

    B) I’m not a huge fan of Ward only playing half the game, but I don’t want hear shit about it from Mario Cristobal, who bailed on Oregon before their bowl in 2021.

I consider myself an honorary Mormon tonight.

    Keep going, BYU!

Is Ward really a top pick in the draft? And does anyone see him or Sanders being much in the NFL? I say no on Sanders, but I’m less informed about Ward.

Bad enough NCSU gives up an 86-yard touchdown run in the last two minutes which helped East Carolina beat the Wolfpack.

But then an NCSU player helps start a stupid fight in the last minute when East Carolina tries to run out the clock? Multiple ejections on both sides. Stupid and thoroughly embarrassing.

Some thoughts from the late bowls:

That's a huge win for ECU, which gets looked down upon by UNC and NCSU bigly.

If there is a way to lose a winnable close game, it seems as if Mario Cristobal will find it.

For a bunch of supposedly religious white boys, BYU talks a lot of garbage. And they've always been borderline dirty. They also should be ahead about 40-0 if they just played straight-up football instead of trying to be so tricky on offense.

Mel Kiper ranks Hunter the No. 1 prospect? No way does he go first in the draft.

Too bad Army could not have gotten a better opponent than La Tech. (I know they were supposed to play the CUSA champ).

And highly predictable. A tradition unlike any other.

Good on the Pop Tarts Bowl for leaning into fun, which is what this is supposed to be. It’s not High Mass like those dorks at the Rose Bowl believe it to be.
