President Trump 2.0: The NEW one and only politics thread

I am correct. And you're just rolling out the same lies and bullship that have never been true.

The line has been pushed so far to the right after decades of relentless attacks that truth and facts are now considered "liberal" and mean to republicans. It's completely forking absurd and you know it. "Enemy of the people" ring a goddamned bell?

You should be happy. Now even the illusion of trying to accurately report on this administration is over. It won't be allowed for the most part by the corporate overlords.

But, you're trolling so I guess this is what you want. To toss out nonsensical crap to get a reaction.

My fault for engaging.

But "liberal media" is lazy, stupid and wrong.

It's never been true?

Again, it's been true. I still think it is. Though this isn't a newsroom, it's played out here.

And Trump can be as bad as he is, and that's not really the argument I'm making. It could be any right-leaning politician. It could be any right-leaning issue.

I think this is an honest answer, although I do think it's relevant if the rank-and-file lean so hard to one side politically that it leads to stories simply not being covered and ideas being quashed because of the "implications" it might have among your newsroom teammates. You can look at the AP as an example. NPR, too.
What stories are not being covered because of liberal bias in newsrooms?

Now, differentiate that from what stories are not being covered because newsrooms have been gutted by corporations, egotistical billionaires, and hedge fund owners.

Biden's inability to do the job after the 2022 mid-terms. Ignored. By almost everyone. Full-court press coverage on Trump and Stormy Daniels, part whatever. Blithe cluelessness on Biden. The least amount of leaks of any administration ever! Eh. People knew, and didn't report. Wasn't the cool thing to do. Just like Newsweek sat on Clinton/Lewinsky.

Trump's speech inauguration speech, in which he makes it sound like we've been living in a third-world country.

My recent election is a mandate to completely and totally reverse a horrible betrayal and all of these many betrayals that have taken place and to give the people back their faith, their wealth, their democracy, and indeed, their freedom. From this moment on, America's decline is over.

Main Trump promises/threats from the inauguration:

Such a jerk. And imagine, he's our President, again.

OK, I looked at the last three pages of the old thread, and I've read to this point on this one, and it just Pishes me off. So my decision to stay away from these threads is confirmed.

Y'all play nice.

Even more, CNN got on its knees to lick Trump's boots.

Alma's just doing an extended victory lap. He's very much like Scott Jennings.

David Roberts:

The rules, if you are keeping track: If a single left activist anywhere in the world says "defund the police," it becomes the official position of the Democratic Party, now and forever. If the president's top surrogate repeatedly sieg-heils on stage, it's ambiguous, impossible to interpret.

The "mainstream media" don't do a lot of stories about Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster, probably for the same reason they didn't report on that issue.

There was no there there.

I'm curious what's Pished you off? I've read through these first pages and found them very insubstantial. Shockingly so, actually.

Officially official

BREAKING: Vivek Ramaswamy will not serve in the new Department of Government Efficiency, the White House says. Trump had selected him to lead alongside Elon Musk.
