Imagine the owner -- who should keep his hands off the daily editorial product in the name of journalistic decency -- intervening to help his favored candidate. That's what started this.

    SFIND and wicked like this.

The staff is appealing to the owner, Jeff Bezos, because the publisher, Will Lewis, is a big part of the problem. He's lost the newsroom.

    As has Bezos.

    Quite a pickle.

Well, it's why, IMO, he's lost the newsroom. He doesn't neatly fit the political leanings of the staff and he told them openly - rudely - that what they were doing wasn't working.

And you know all that. The left purges the middle and the right. Happened at the NYT, will happen here. And I don't see it changing much anytime soon. That's why The Free Press - a site that does mediocre work at best - had to form in the first place, because one cannot expect the major news outlets to play the role the press is supposed to play.

How much...fury? moral certitude?...has to flow through a sportswriter that he'd take to a site for which he doesn't work to post a throwup emoji about harmless treacle like that?

There are several types of workplaces in which Trumpists don't represent the majority. It's not just those with coastal libruhl media elites. Schools. Hospitals. Hotels. Grocery stores. Maybe even some churches. Tebow forbid.

Well, absolutely public schools. Anything government.

Grocery stores, I doubt it comes up much.

But I'm gonna guess 99.1% of The Post is Democratic, and about 45% of that is of the French Revolution variety of Democrat.

Which does more harm to the country: a Democratic rank and file or a Trumpist leadership and ownership? I think we already know.

What about the fucking readership, Alma? Or to put it in capitalist terms, the customers? Have you checked out the vote totals in DC and the surrounding counties in Va. and Md.? More Democratic than where I live in Massachusetts. Guess what, when you piss on your customers, they go ducking elsewhere.

Is lying to, bullshitting and manipulating your customers the media's job? Any room for facts and objectivity?

I've gazed at the front page of the WaPo site a couple times since last night, but I've resisted clicking on an article yet. Which sucks, because they undoubtedly will have the best coverage of the crash.

Trump says there’s no room for that.
