It's important to the members of the board, actually. Some of our fellow SportsJournalists.commers are quite well-known either in the field or on the beats they cover --- some so much so that it would be difficult for them to "be themselves" here if their real names were known. And even among the lesser-knowns, it's a fact that being anonymous here makes it easier to talk about issues in the journalism business without worrying about retribution from the companies they work for.

Ah, so I see you do understand.

I don't think that's what he was asking. And as Moddy said, the Startlegram stuff wasn't nuked because the guy outed himself but instead because that particular poster was trying to out others. (It's the same reason the Tuscaloosa thread on the jobs board was sanitized and locked down last weekend, as a matter of fact.)

I believe the Stop. Telegram. Stop. was responsible for hiring someone (not in sports) who had gotten his/her paper sued successfully at the previous stop.

Now there's an achievement to hold up high.

Don't bury the DMN yet. They appear to have sent golf writer Bill Nichols to England.

Well by the time it all came down, it may have come down to him going because of airfare and hotel commitments. The money was spent so he might as well go.

Well, Football Bat, you've now reached true brilliance.

You're ready to join the illogical legions who can't make an argument or respond to one! Congratulations!

Not a surprise but it doesn't look like the L.A. Times sent Thomas Bonk, the first time in memory the Times is not at a major.
