Is this an Advance-wide thing, or just at NOLA? Don't know that I'd feel too comfortable with halftime highlights filed by boosters. At least the Web site is separate from the paper, though.

"Be a live football correspondent for your team

Attending local football games? Have a cell phone? This year, NOLA.com will be providing live game updates - scores, big plays, halftime reports and more - with input from dozens of users like you, live from games around our region. We're inviting fans, students, boosters, parents from all schools to join the fun and become a NOLA.com Prep Football Correspondent."

Depending on what they mean by "halftime reports" I don't have a real problem with this. If your paper's Web site could provide live scoring to football games wouldn't you want that? How many times during the night do we get calls from locals asking if we know the score? If you have the ability to provide live scoring, plus who scored touchdowns, etc., why not?

  3. We have that.. live quarter-by-quarter updates on our websites and the fucksticks JUST .... KEEP ... CALLING.

Citizen Journalism is the newest oxymoron of our profession. It should be stopped immediately as a matter of principle.
The only thing you could trust from one of these callers is the score. And even that might be stretching it.
