So then Serena v. Sharapova really ISN'T the most lopsided final ever, then.

The fans that have been in Rod Laver Arena haven't really gotten their money's worth the past couple of days, though I would have paid to see Federer put on the clinic the other night.

I think the men's final could be close, unless Gonzo gets real nervous. But he's been a rock so far.

Serena is dismantling Maria like she's some qualifier.
    This is remarkable.

I think he means that it's not on network TV.

How come so few players have demonstrated an ability to come up with a Plan B.

    Blake? Nope.

    Haas? Nope.

    Nadal? Nope.

    Maria? Nope.

Roddick tried different things but simply never had a chance. If I'm Maria, I'm at least working the ball from side to side, making Serena run a little bit.

Just a complete and total dismantling.

Dick said that Maria had never gotten such a spanking. Hmmm.

I think that flew over your head. Just sayin'.

Serena's 6-1, 6-2 win isn't the most lopsided Aussie women's final ever. That honor goes to Steffi Graff (1994) and Margaret Smith Court (1962). The contenders:

    Opponent wins 2 games
    1994 -- Graf def. Sanchez-Vicario, 6-0, 6-2
    1962 -- Smith Court def. O'Neill, 6-0, 6-2

    Opponent wins 3 games
    2007 -- S. Williams def. Sharapova, 6-1, 6-2
    1968 -- B.J. King def. Smith Court, 6-1, 6-2
    1939 -- Westacott def. Hopman, 6-1, 6-2

    Opponent wins 4 games
    1997 -- Hingis def. Pierce, 6-2, 6-2
    1976 -- E. Cawley def. Tomanova, 6-2, 6-2
    1970 -- Smith Court def. Reid, 6-1, 6-3
    1963 -- Smith Court def. O'Neill, 6-2, 6-2
    1948 -- Bolton def. Toomey, 6-3, 6-1
    1926 -- Cozens def. Robertson, 6-1, 6-3

    Honorable mention
    2006 -- Mauresmo def. H-Hardenne, 6-1, 2-0 ret.
