    The Newspaper Network of Central Ohio, based in Newark, Ohio, is seeking reporters with a passion for pursuing and writing excellent stories connecting with our print and online readers. We put a special emphasis on watchdog reporting.

    This posting is for current and potential news and sports openings at our 10 locations in Newark, Mansfield, Lancaster, Chillicothe, Zanesville, Coshocton, Marion, Bucyrus, Fremont and Port Clinton. Our online sites can be found via CentralOhio.com.

    We are Gannett Co. newspapers that earned 79 Associated Press Society of Ohio awards for 2009, including 22 for first place honors in reporting, photography, design and online.

    The successful applicant should be a college graduate trained in news writing and editing, including online journalism and use of social media in reporting.

    Are you saying the sports editor of the "No. 1 college newspaper in the country" should have enough contacts to not beg for a job on a message board?

    By the way, I could work for the newspapers in question if they paid me a ton of money. I accept PayPal.

    IU, I'll try to put this mildly, but why in the hell would you sit back and tell them to call you?

    Odds are they will get a good number of resumes.

    Show some initiative and send the resume without being asked, especially since it's an open position.

    Really? I think the sports editor of the 274th best newspaper in the U.S. would know better. What is this, amateur hour?
