I just have the most problem thinking, "Dude, that's Bradshaw from the Acolytes." Then it just makes no sense whatsoever to me.

Then again, Ron Simmons was a WCW champ, so I don't know.

Anybody else find it ironic (or silly) that "One Night Stand" is about to have its third edition?

Silly. Especially because the last one was such a dud.

Was ONS II when Edge jumped in the ring wearing a motorcycle helmet? Or was that the first one?

I think it's the fourth ONS now. RVD beat Cena for the title at the second WWECW edition, and last year's version was a god-damned embarrassment.

And how shall Vince piss on Gordon, Heyman, etc. this year? I remember when ECW was something you didn't want to miss. An honest-to-God event. Thousands of smart marks in the house just waiting for someone to destroy tables, chairs, himself, etc. A time when Super Crazy wasn't as big as a Dudley (Spike aside). When you couldn't get away with a blown spot without hearing about it from everyone...fucking EVERYONE.

I went to ECW shows and I've seen the current ECW live after a Smackdown taping. To say 'they're not even close' is a severe understatement.

I used to love watching the old ECW, especially around 1994-95, when the big two were still using cartoon characters.

The show that's on now is a low-level WWE show, just with the name ECW. The mistake Vince made in the beginning was getting fans to think they were receiving the old ECW, instead of the Vince version.

Sadly, ECW will never be the insanely brilliant product it once was. As it is, the show is nothing more than a souped up version of the old Jakked or Velocity shows of a few years back, where the lower-tiered guys got a chance to shine.

One Night Stand should never, ever be broadcast from anywhere other than Hammerstein Ballroom. The fans are what made ECW great, IMHO. If they are going to continue to insist of doing ONS, they should do it with dignity and bring back the ECW vets and have a good ole fashioned ECW bloodfest.

Like someone said, the ECW that they're showing on SciFi these days is just a cheap, watered-down imitation of the original.

I don't even consider it the same thing, to be honest. There's no barbed wire. There's no flaming tables. Hell, they don't even use the extreme rules/anything goes gimmick anymore. It's just a bunch of regular characters with no edge (and little future) battling it out for a little bit of face time.

Fuckin' A. Taz, Douglas, RVD, Sabu, Sandman, Dreamer, Tajiri, Super Crazy, Credible, Doring and Roadkill, Funk, etc. and the best fans in the biz.

I'm a big old-school wrestling fan (hence the screen name), and one of my best memories was attending an ECW show and sitting on the front row. During the course of the night, I had Balls Mahoney grab my beer and chug it down; I had Sabu bleed all over me and I had Dawn Marie give me a "view to remember." And that was just in the first three matches. LOL

They knew how to put on a show without being over-the-top silly. I tolerate WWE now, only because it's the only connection to my youth (tried TNA, it just doesn't do it for me).
