I'm no SEC fan, but Florida has looked more impressive than USC. Not saying that USC hasn't (Thought getting out of the trap game at Arizona was solid), but Florida more so.

i might give you that, but usc's demolition of ohio state is a pretty solid win.

I'm not saying USC is bad. Far from it. In fact, I think USC is one of the top three or four teams in the land. Both Florida and USC have a loss. Both also have plenty of impressive wins. I just think Florida is better at this point. That's all. If someone tells me they think USC is better, I'll disagree, but not much. To me, it's that close.

It's not like I'm saying Florida is far and away better than USC.

I'm holding only one win (Georgia) against current top-25 opponents against them.

For comparison's sake, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah all have three while Alabama, Penn State, USC and Texas Tech have two. Beating up on decent to bad teams doesn't do it for me, they need to show more.

Yup, it was -- also against Todd Boeckman.
Now do they win like that with Terrelle Pryor with several games under his belt? Maybe, Maybe not...

Utah's the one who's going to get screwed. Say it goes and plays No. 4 Texas and beats the snot out of them while No. 1 Florida stops No. 2 Oklahoma which lost to Texas. Should Utah lay claim to a title?

That's why the Florida debating doesn't matter right now. The Gators will have a chance to show you more. In less than two weeks.

All those other teams can have five wins against top 25 teams. Still doesn't change the fact that I think Florida is playing the best football right now.

I guess if the AP votes Utah No. 1, which it won't, then sure. More than likely, Utah will do what Boise (or whichever team it was) did a few years ago when it went undefeated. Nothing. It sucks, but thems the breaks.

When I opened the thread tonight, I wasn't debating Florida. I was defending my Alabama pick for No. 1. And you're right about the debate, it makes no sense for us to debate at length who deserves this or that. We can state our opinions and agree to disagee. This will all be sorted out soon enough on the field.

    Maybe.

Yeah, that's cool. I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone; just in general. Personally, I'm pullilng for the worst possible scenario, but I'm not quite sure why, seeing as how there will be no playoff until at least 2015. Prolly not even then.

I'm all for chaos in the BCS. Like JoePa's been talking about for 20-some years now, a playoff would be nice. But it's never going to happen.
