To what end are you mentioning OU's sked? Surely you're not doing it in a vacuum, it has to be in service of a larger point.

i literally threw my hands in the air while reading that, dools. i made an observation, period.

why does there have to be a larger point than oklahoma's schedule isn't as tough as once believed and that has to carry some weight with some voters now that utah mucked things up as far as a clean vote may be concerned?

Not to break up this lovefest, but, slappy, are we doing a final poll?

If so, when is the deadline for ballots?

If you want to believe a schedule that 10 bowl teams -- including wins against 11-win TCU, 11-win Cincy and 10-win Mizzou -- before their game with the Gators is soft, that's your call. Please find a tougher schedule among national championship contenders.

Oklahama beat a very good schedule, perhaps lucky because their conference happened to be very good this year. USC and Utah should not have to apologize because overall depth of their conferences was lacking. Both at least tried to schedule quality in the nonconference, few directional schools among them.

    Utah:

    at Michigan
    Oregon State
    Utah State
    Weber State

    - Utah is a team that seeks to schedule quality in the nonconference. Weber State somehow snuck in there, but when the schedules were made, Michigan was excpected to be MICHIGAN, while the Beavers may have been seen as a beatable team for them. A pass for the standard in-state rivalry with Utah State.

    USC:

    Notre Dame
    at Virginia
    Ohio State

    - Should USC apologize for scheduling Notre Dame, even as the Irish suffer a down cycle? Ohio State . . . no arguments there. At Virginia is not a special team, but considering the directional schools a lot of top teams schedule (yes, I know . . . exposure for the smaller local schools, money, etc.), a team from a BCS conference is certainly not embarrassing.

    Oklahoma:

    Chattanooga
    Cincinnati
    Washington
    TCU

    - Not nearly as bad as most major schools. Cincinnati was much better than usual, but Washington was much, much worse. So that's a wash. Chattanooga . . . well, I guess the great city of Chattanooga, Oklahoma needed the money and the exposure. TCU is always pretty solid.

The point? Teams can't choose their conference schedule. I refuse to penalize a school for the fact the other teams in their conference suck. I will penalize a school for not even trying in the nonconference schedule.

I don't think any of these schools has anything to be embarrassed about.

Likewise, Piotr, Florida played Miami, Florida State, Hawaii and the Citadel.

Not exactly a slate of pushovers in most years, the Citadel notwithstanding.

You'd like to think... But while texas belongs in the spot, OU is a solid 1B
