Is it amusing, offensive, or just plain dumb that people who vote USC No. 1 are immediately getting labeled as "FANBOY!!!!!!!"?

Texas did have an insane four-game Big XII stretch this season. But again, the conference is what it is., They did not seek those games, and I still think that's only part of the resume. Lauding a team because the other teams in their conference happened to be good, and ripping a team because the other teams in their conference happened to suck, is judging a team based on things they cannot control.

    Now, the schedule Texas chose:

    Florida Atlantic
    UTEP
Rice (Why does Rice play Texas? WE CHOOSE THE MOON!")
    Arkansas

Well, at least they tried with Arkansas. They should get a pass for Rice, for the traditional matchup. But the first two schools have no business on the schedule of a Texas-caliber program. Oklahoma, USC and Utah all had better nonconference slates.

    Yes, I know: "FANBOIY!!!!!"

You'll have my ballot, with Utah at No. 1 regardless of what happens Thursday, by the deadline.

Likewise, is it amusing, offensive or just plain dumb that people who vote Oklahoma (should it win Thursday) or Texas No. 1 are immediately getting labeled as "FANBOY!!!!!!!"? Because it goes both ways.

And what about those who are labeled 'dumb' for having Texas No. 1?

Thanks SC, more work for me.

Like Elliotte, I'm keeping Texas No. 1 too.

Not quite sure if Texas will remain my No. 1 yet. If Oklahoma wins -- especially if it's not a total domination -- the 'Horns will almost surely stay at the top. If Florida wins a squeaker, Texas probably stays at No. 1.

If Florida dominates, I might have to rethink it. Start from scratch, look at overall resume, and see where it takes me.
