    I'm shocked about that too. The Ducks lost to a higher ranked team and then beat up on two higher ranked teams and no love from the board?

    Think there's too much love everywhere for LSU. Right now, I don't think they're a very good football team. But, then, I've been wrong many times before.

    * Boise State has proven the last half of this decade, so the Broncos being No. 4 shouldn't surprise anyone. A lot of people said they’d lose at Bowling Green, but they crushed ’em.

    * TCU's win at Death Valley was really big for its program.

    * 13-14-15 will clear itself up in the next few weeks. Kind of strange to see a Wiscy QB throw for 4 TDs in a single game.

    * 17-25 was not easy.

    Dropping Penn State, Ole Miss and Cal totally out is just plain silly. You shouldn't have had them ranked so high to begin with if their standing falls like a house of cards with just one loss. It's a long season, and I bet no more than one of those teams finishes with as many as three losses.

    Cal loses 42-3 and they should stay in why?

    Penn State played like a 50th-ranked team. Some of the worst playcalling I've seen in a while..

    Same with Ole Miss.

    Southern Miss didn't drop very far -- they were driving for the tying TD late before losing to undefeated Kansas. Good game.

    By the end, everything balances out, dools.

    Because at this point, you have to assume it's an outlier. A second trouncing is a trend. Again, shouldn't rank 'em high in the first place if they're gonna fall out with one loss. Same, and even more so with Penn State, which actually led most of its game. It's the equivalent of everything going wrong one day after a bunch of good days in a good life and offing yourself the next day. You're basically polling out a hat if you're dropping a top 10 team 15 spots or more based on one game.

    Well, I didn't commit poll-icide with Penn State after its 21-10 home loss; I let the Nitts stay in the top 25 this week.

    I didn't drop any of them out of my poll. I just dropped them a bunch of spots after thinking about dropping them out.

    I threw Oregon back in at No. 19, and made sure it was ranked a few spots higher than Cal.

    My rankings are not based on how I teams will finish, they are based on what has happened so far and only that.
