Maybe you and I were the 2 last week and Bubs is jumping on OUR bandwagon. I had Texas #2 the first six weeks behind Florida anyway.

No way Jose. I've had Texas No. 1 all season. I had Texas No. 1 at the end of last season.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my rationale comes down to best wins.

Texas' best win is against a three-loss Oklahoma team that played three-plus quarters without Bradford, granted, because he got knocked out by the Longhorns' defense. Its second-best win is by 10 points at home in a revenge game against 5-3 Texas Tech, which just got blasted by Texas A&M.

Alabama -- my No. 1 -- has beaten top-25 teams in Virginia Tech (neutral site), at Ole Miss and against South Carolina, not to mention Arkansas, which I put on the level with Texas Tech as a maddening offensive team.

Florida has won at LSU, which is probably a better victory than Oklahoma neutral site, and home wins against Tennessee and Arkansas are on the level of Texas' home win against Texas Tech.

And now, push comes to shove.

This week's polls here and elsewhere are going to be fascinating.

Xan, your posted ballot lists only 24 teams... don't want the wrath of Slappy coming upon you!
